Brette Chapin (b 1988) received her BS from Harvey Mudd College (Claremont, California, USA) in 2011, and received her PhD from the University of Texas at Austin (Austin, Texas, USA) under the supervision of Prof. Eric Anslyn in August 2016. In the Anslyn group, her work focused on elucidating the mechanism of fluorescence modulation in a boronic acid-based saccharide sensor, as well as characterising the complex equilibrium of a boronic acid-based three-component assembly. She joined the McGonigal group as a Postdoctoral Researcher in September 2016, where she will spend a year studying shapeshifting molecules. Her favourite things are reading, travelling, art, chocolate, and her cat.
