Ketaki Samanta (b 1991) received a MSc (2013) in Chemistry from Vidyasagar University (India). Her MSc. Project, titled “Synthesis of triazole containing chelating ligand of metal ions”, was carried out under the supervision of Dr. Nirmal Kumar Hazra and Dr. Manoj Kumar Roy. After graduating, she moved to the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS, Kolkata) to perform research under the supervision of Prof Sudip Malik. The topic of her PhD work is “Donor-Acceptor Type Conjugated Molecules: Design, Synthesis and Applications”. She joined the McGonigal group for a four-month placement in June 2017 to pursue a part of her PhD project as a Newton–Bhabha Fellow. Ketaki loves travelling, shopping, painting and listening music.
